Contributing Writer

Summary

Join The Escapist as a remote contract writer to contribute to our coverage of cozy games! We're seeking talented writers with excellent English skills and a passion for cozy games like Stardew Valley and Rune Factory. This is a writing position, not video-based or creative writing. Successful applicants will demonstrate their writing abilities through two writing samples. Pay is $15-$75 USD per article, depending on length and location. The Escapist is part of GAMURS Group, a supportive and growing network of gaming websites.

Requirements

• Possess excellent English language writing skills
• Demonstrate eagerness to learn and incorporate feedback
• Be a self-starter
• Have a strong knowledge of cozy games
• Submit a resume
• Submit a cover letter mentioning what cozy games you play
• Submit two writing samples demonstrating your ability to write on the aforementioned subjects

Responsibilities

• Write articles about cozy games
• Complete pieces in a timely manner
• Pitch trending ideas

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Google Trends
• Experience writing SEO
• Fluency in social media platforms such as TikTok, X, Facebook, etc
• Availability on weekends
