Summary

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or related field
  • 3+ years experience in conversation design, UX writing, or related field
  • Strong understanding of pragmatics, discourse analysis, and conversational structure
  • Experience with NLP technologies and concepts (intent classification, entity extraction, sentiment analysis)
  • Demonstrated experience with major cloud AI services: AWS: Amazon Lex, Amazon Comprehend, Amazon Transcribe GCP: Dialogflow, Cloud Natural Language API, Speech-to-Text
  • Proficiency in conversation design tools and prototyping platforms
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in conversation analytics and optimization
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Ability to balance technical constraints with user experience needs
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Excellent project management and documentation skills
  • Strong collaboration abilities with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop conversational flows, dialog patterns, and interaction models that create natural, effective user experiences
  • Create and maintain conversation scripts, including main flows, edge cases, and error handling scenarios
  • Analyze conversation logs and user interaction data to identify patterns and opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to optimize natural language understanding models and intent classification
  • Develop and maintain conversation design guidelines and best practices
  • Build and maintain testing frameworks for conversational accuracy and user experience
  • Work with localization teams to ensure conversation flows work across multiple languages and cultures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computational Linguistics or related field
  • Experience with machine learning concepts and training data preparation
  • Knowledge of Python or similar programming language
  • Experience with voice user interface (VUI) design
  • Background in user research and usability testing
  • Experience with multilingual conversation design
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
