Summary
Join NerdWallet's collaborative copywriting team as a versatile copywriter. You will craft engaging and informative content for various channels, leveraging data and user insights to improve personal finance communication. The role requires proficiency in creative copywriting across multiple platforms, a strong understanding of UX, and close collaboration with marketing partners and designers. You'll be responsible for refining strategies, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring on-brand, timely delivery of content. Success in this role demands strategic thinking, a love for storytelling, and excellent communication skills. This is a remote position located anywhere in Canada (excluding Quebec).
Requirements
- Be proficient in creative copywriting via various channels including, but not limited to landing pages, social ads, email, and podcasts
- Have a creative portfolio that showcases your past work
- Have a strong grasp of UX and be able to identify ways to make our content easier to digest β whether itβs through language, formatting, or design
- Have 3-4 years of related experience as an in-house copywriter or at an advertising or marketing agency
- Have a strong portfolio β featuring compelling and thoughtful headlines, marketing campaigns, and/or product copy
- Be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Have a love of storytelling and thinking creatively to build impactful user experiences and marketing materials
Responsibilities
- Write for a variety of channels, leveraging performance data and user insights
- Develop strategic hypotheses to shape your work
- Utilize NerdWalletβs brand voice to make personal finance more palatable
- Partner closely with our marketing partners to proactively refine strategy, improve the work and identify new areas to test to improve business metrics
- Work closely with our designers to bring ideas to life across multiple channels and project types
- Make personal finance enjoyable to read while ensuring copy is rooted in strategy and business goals
- Write in multiple channels and styles including landing pages, social media, email, product, as well as headline-driven placements
- Expertly review layouts and identify opportunities for improvement
- Organize and document work so that it is easy to share with your collaborators and stakeholders. This includes creating organized copy docs and being able to utilize collaborative tools like Figma
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure content and visuals work together and that your work goes out on time and on brand β checking off both business and brand objectives
- Digest performance metrics and stay on top of industry trends and standard processes
- Understand how your work fits into and supports the larger NerdWallet customer journey
- Share your work across teams and with your fellow content strategists. Expertly articulate your creative approach as well as the results from messaging testing
Preferred Qualifications
Have experience writing about financial products (think credit cards, banking, mortgages/loans, insurance or investing)
Benefits
- Hourly rate of $55 CAD/hour
- W2 contract role
- Estimated schedule of 32 hours per week from January-December
- 100% remote position
- Remote position located anywhere in Canada (excluding Quebec)
