Summary

The job is for a Design Program Manager at Cash App's Design & Creative team. The role involves working closely with cross-functional leaders to drive design and operational excellence for the new Local initiative, which aims to integrate the Square and Cash App design teams efficiently.

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years experience in program or project management within a product design organization and/or creative agency
  • Extensive knowledge of the inner-workings of product, design and engineering teams
  • Experience leading large, complex, and cross-functional programs that sit at the intersection of product design, engineering and creative production
  • Passion for owning and driving best practices for design teams and work that improves cross functional ways of working
  • Comfort feed-backing to senior design and cross-functional leaders, and proven critical thinking, and leadership abilities
  • The skills to gather and synthesize information, and can confidently communicate across teams and levels across the organization
  • Flexibility and adaptability, and can use your judgment to apply the model and approach that best fit with the context of the program and the needs of the team

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with design, product and engineering leadership to establish and codify key processes, resource planning and strategy
  • Influence the project vision and direction based on planning or organizational variables
  • Ensure the teams are on track, facilitate decision-making, resolve blockers and surface challenges
  • Streamline communications to ensure information and knowledge is flowing freely
  • Proactively assess and de-escalate risks, gleaning early signals for when a project or team is headed off track and quickly taking action before an issue arises
  • Enable continuous improvement during the project, ensuring takeaways are captured, shared, and coordinated
  • Coordinate project/program reviews, planning sessions, offsites and other team events
  • Partner with Head of Design Operations to drive clarity and transparency for your program work; create effective tracking systems and processes that scale with the rest of the Design organization
