Remote DevOps Lead

Summary

Windmill is seeking a skilled DevOps Lead to manage their DevOps team, automate and streamline operations, and lead efforts in creating roadmaps for projects. The ideal candidate has a strong background in DevOps practices, team management, and hands-on experience with various DevOps tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of experience in the industry
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps or related fields
• 2+ years of experience in a leadership or management role
• Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, principles, and methodologies
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, or Azure
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or PowerShell
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, or CloudFormation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the DevOps team, including hiring, training, and performance management
• Develop and implement DevOps strategies, processes, and best practices
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
• Design, implement, and manage infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, or CloudFormation
• Work closely with development, operations, and QA teams to ensure smooth project delivery
• Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and security of our cloud infrastructure
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues in production and non-production environments
• Develop and maintain documentation related to infrastructure and processes
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices
