Summary

Join Profound as the Director, Business Development and drive sales pipeline growth, close new business, and forge strategic partnerships. You will lead market research, identifying clinical trials benefiting from Profound's capabilities. Manage interactions with sponsors and CROs, addressing legal, feasibility, and budgetary aspects of deals. Represent the Commercial team at industry events. Success hinges on identifying market opportunities, engaging stakeholders, and collaborating with internal teams. This role is remote or office-based with 30% travel.

Requirements

  • Years of experience in sales and/or sales support
  • Typically 5+ years of experience in clinical research or related field
  • Typically 5+ years of experience using CRMs such as SalesForce
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biology, chemistry or related field

Responsibilities

  • Identify key sponsor and CRO stakeholders overseeing studies and programs which align with Profound capabilities
  • Oversee the sales process to ensure timelines and sponsor/CRO expectations are met or exceeded
  • Track sales activities, communication, and status within Profound’s CRM, following approved processes
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new business opportunities
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to drive growth and achieve revenue targets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry influencers
  • Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives to senior management
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of clinical trial conduct and/or patient recruitment
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical purchasing processes associated with clinical operations and recruitment
  • Utilization of CRM system to produce reports which highlight commercial pipeline, sales, and activities for clinical trial execution
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic start-up environment, with a willingness to adapt to changing business needs
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills to identify market opportunities and develop business strategies
  • Deep understanding of the life sciences market, including trends, key players, and regulatory environment
  • Excellent networking skills with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, including clients, partners, and regulatory bodies
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences
