Summary

Join Hootsuite as their Director, Corporate Accounting and lead the financial reporting and consolidation functions. Requirements

  • CPA designation
  • Advanced level of progressive accounting experience, including experience in financial reporting and consolidation or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading, strategizing, and driving innovative financial initiatives, achieving organizational alignment and driving significant transformative change
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex US GAAP and IFRS accounting issues, especially in areas such as revenue recognition, equity-based compensation, mergers and acquisitions, consolidation and international accounting
  • Experience in overseeing financial risks, architecting, and executing risk mitigation strategies
  • A proven record of establishing scalable processes and procedures, adeptly navigating and fostering growth during rapid expansion phases

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to a global team of finance professionals and oversee the preparation, review and consolidation of financial statements, monthly reporting package and statutory reports for global operations
  • Ensure financial reports comply with US GAAP, IFRS, and company accounting policies, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Supervise the timely preparation of financial statements, including consolidations, eliminations, and statutory financial statements for international subsidiaries
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing audit planning, execution, and resolution of key audit issues
  • Ensure quality, timely completion of consolidated and statutory audits and serve as the liaison for audit-related services, including negotiation of fees and communication with auditors
  • Optimize financial systems (particularly NetSuite) and internal processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability as the company grows
  • Partner with senior leaders to drive M&A and integration projects to establish consistent and standardized accounting policies, processes and systems
  • Establish and implement internal control procedures to ensure the reliability and integrity of financial and operational data, safeguarding assets and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Oversee the preparation and periodic updates of accounting policies, ensuring alignment with current regulations and best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement in all global financial processes to improve accuracy, timeliness and relevance of financial reporting
  • Collaborate with Tax and Treasury to ensure accurate financial reporting, efficient processes and timely compliance
  • Oversee the Investor Relations function ensuring regular quarterly and annual reporting requirements are met
  • Build a high performing team. Guide and coach team members by establishing clear objectives, mentoring, providing consistent feedback, creating professional advancement opportunities, and fostering a culture that emphasizes Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I)
  • Act as a key thought partner to the VP of Finance and Hootsuite's senior finance leadership, overseeing and innovating accounting and finance operations within a dynamic environment, while leading and orchestrating collaboration with key stakeholders to drive transformative change projects that streamline and standardize Enterprise-wide financial processes, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness
