Summary

Join Aprio's Corporate Development Team and help the business grow through mergers and acquisitions. As a key member of the Corporate Development team, the M&A Director will play a central role in evaluating, underwriting and executing acquisitions. This role focuses on firm-level M&A and requires strategic insight, financial acumen, and transaction execution expertise. The position involves leading valuation and underwriting processes, coordinating cross-functional teams, building financial models, and managing a team of onshore and offshore analytical team members. The M&A Director will also support negotiations, draft investment memos, and present findings to executive leadership. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • 5–8 years of experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or a related field
  • Proven ability to manage complex transactions end-to-end
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills
  • Ability to manage, develop, and oversee junior staff both onshore and offshore
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Understanding of the accounting and wealth management firm ecosystem, including key drivers of value, partner dynamics, and cultural integration challenges

Responsibilities

  • Lead valuation and underwriting processes across multiple industries/segment areas
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to assess diligence findings, integration fit, and risk factors
  • Build and oversee financial models and pro forma forecasts to support valuation and deal structuring
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate deferred consideration trackers, timelines, and investment materials
  • Lead and oversee a team of onshore and offshore analytical team members
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and accountability in work product, deadlines, and seller / firm expectations
  • Support negotiations on deal terms, structures, and post-close arrangements in coordination with legal counsel and leadership
  • Draft investment memos and present findings and recommendations to executive leadership and the M&A committee
  • Ensure alignment between deal objectives and long-term strategic goals

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience evaluating or acquiring accounting firms or wealth management firms
