Summary

Join Addepar as the Head of Portfolio Data Operations in Edinburgh, UK, leading a global team focused on ensuring timely and high-quality data for clients. You will develop and execute a strategic roadmap for portfolio data operations, aligning with Addepar's business objectives. Oversee operational workflows, implement robust KPI tracking, and identify opportunities for process automation and innovation. Collaborate with various stakeholders, including Engineering, Product, and other business units. Mentor managers, foster a strong team culture, and oversee recruitment and training. This role requires significant experience in the financial investment industry and expertise in data operations and management.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in the financial investment/advisory/fin-tech industry, with in-depth knowledge of capital markets, trading operations, and middle/back-office operations systems, including several years in a senior leadership role
  • Expertise in data operations and data management with an exceptional understanding of custodial data pipelines and the unique challenges that come with managing and operating them
  • Proven experience in using process automation, operational workflow re-engineering, and continuous improvement to enhance operational efficiency and scalability by using modern tools and technologies
  • Demonstrated track record of improving data quality and operational efficiency
  • Strong project management and analytical skills with experience in leading change management
  • Experienced in leading global teams, cross-functional and cross-regional projects, and learning and development initiatives
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with clients, external data partners, and internal team members and stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for portfolio data operations, aligning with Addepar's business objectives and corporate growth plans
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organisation's evolving needs and ensure the data operations strategy is closely aligned with these goals
  • Provide leadership on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the data operations function
  • Oversee the spectrum of operational workflows for portfolio and aggregator data feeds
  • Maintain effective process controls to ensure quality standards, and organisational objectives and deliverables are achieved
  • Implement robust KPI tracking, metrics, and analytics to measure operational effectiveness, resource utilisation, operations scalability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Identify and seize opportunities for process automation and innovation, contributing to the evolution of Addepar’s Data Operations function and scaling impact globally
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to design, test, and implement new processes and tooling features that improve data quality as well as increase operational efficiency
  • Operate comfortably at both the strategic level, influencing key decision-makers, and the hands-on level, actively engaging with data operations workflows to help review, manage, and/or address data inquiries and requests from clients and internal stakeholders
  • Be prepared to get involved directly when necessary to address tactical challenges and ensure successful operation
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including the other Data Operations teams, Go-to-market/services, Engineering, Product, IT, Finance, and other business units, to ensure alignment and integration of data operations initiatives
  • Mentor managers/leads and consistently promote knowledge sharing and best practices across all teams
  • Manage a global team, fostering a strong culture alongside achieving results: Balance driving performance with cultivating a high-performing, inclusive, and growth-oriented team culture. Lead by example, empowering team members to innovate and collaborate effectively while ensuring accountability for measurable outcomes
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in working at not only financial services companies but also product/platform-led businesses is preferred
