Requirements

  • Strong commitment to the mission, policies and goals of Rewiring America
  • 7 years of experience applicable to nonprofit institutional fundraising
  • Experience securing and managing 7-figure grants
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in an engaging and accessible style to funders
  • Experience crafting fundraising projections and designing work plans to achieve revenue targets
  • Familiarity with the best practices and ethical standards of nonprofit fundraising
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt in a fast-growing organization where team roles and responsibilities are still evolving
  • Collaborative and team-focused work style
  • Facility with technology to support remote team work

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a plan to solicit, apply for, secure, and fulfill institutional fundraising grants
  • Research prospective funders and advise on strategies to motivate significant gifts that align with funder priorities
  • Serve as the lead on foundation grants to Rewiring America. Prepare, submit, and track proposals, and ensure that the objectives of grants and funding agreements are met and reported according to appropriate deadlines
  • Track trends and opportunities to ensure that the case for support expresses Rewiringโ€™s unique value proposition and considers donor/funder priorities
  • Serve as Relationship Manager to high-value Institutional funders and prospects
  • Support the VP Investment in supporting her existing portfolio of approximately 30 institutional funders who have collectively pledged over $60 million to Rewiring America
  • Ensure consistent and meaningful communications with investors to facilitate strong relationship-building and stewardship
  • Assist in planning and execution of funder events
  • Track all institutional revenue and collaborate with members of the Investment and Finance teams on budgeting, reporting, and audits
  • Contribute to the development of the Investment Team's annual fundraising plan
  • Create departmental policies, procedures, and workflows

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s or graduate degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent references demonstrating a strong track record in securing institutional grants for organizations with climate-focused missions
  • Content knowledge in climate, renewable energy, and/or building electrification
