Director of Finance

Summary

Join our team as a Director of Finance to oversee corporate financial operations, planning, and compliance. This role will entail preparation of financial statements, forecast and budget setting, tax planning and reporting, accounting, and analysis of financial impacts for special projects.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant financial experience, with a strong emphasis on financial modeling and strategic planning
• MBA, CFA, or equivalent advanced degree preferred
• Extensive experience in FP&A, including tool implementation and process optimization
• Proven track record in credit analysis, cash flow management, and investment portfolio management
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex financial projects and initiatives
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

• Ownership of financial operations and treasury management (cash & digital assets)
• Manage bank and custody accounts, ensuring appropriate maintenance and signatory authority
• Calculate and forecast burn, revenue, other income and runway and accurately present current and future cash and token positions in real-time
• Streamline operations and ensure best practices and regulatory compliance, in collaboration with Legal
• Regularly report on cash position, liquidity forecasts, and counterparty risks to leadership
• Establish and track core metrics that are essential to the financial health of the company
• Lead and monitor the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes
• Lead the design and implementation of internal controls over financial reporting and accounting policies and procedures
• Act as a primary senior point of contact within the company for internal and external financial and accounting queries
• Managing regular 409a valuations, working with the Board, fundraising initiatives, and strategic decentralization efforts
• Lead strategic liquidity and financial planning, focusing on detailed cash and Zora digital assets projections to support the company's growth and strategic objectives
• Develop forecasting models to predict liquidity needs and plan for asset value fluctuations, bearing in mind market trends and company goals
• Prepare meaningful analysis for strategic business decisions and model financial situations in close collaboration with the leadership team
• Provide insightful and quality financial advice to support the company's business decision-making
• Align liquidity management, including cash flow optimization and liquidity forecasting, with the company's broader investment and financing strategies
• Devise liquidity strategies to navigate the unique challenges of cryptocurrency assets and NFT, with a particular focus on Zora digital asset dynamics
• Implement proactive liquidity monitoring and forecasting to manage crypto market volatility effectively
• Establish and continuously refine risk management strategies to keep pace with the evolving digital asset markets
• Assess and monitor counterparty risks associated with the company's financial partners and service providers
• Conduct regular reviews of counterparty risk exposure and adjust risk management strategies as necessary
