Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in an HR role at a Canadian company with exposure to compliance
  • Experience managing a team of People Operations professionals
  • Experience working with high-volume front-line workforces
  • Ability to understand and communicate tradeoffs and engage with legal counsel when necessary
  • Experience working with HRIS configuration and integrations, Rippling a plus
  • Has served as an HRBP previously and is comfortable managing and owning employee concerns
  • Professional discretion and ability to appropriately handle confidential information
  • Comfort bringing clarity to ambiguity in a fast-moving environment

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership to implement changes, updates, and new policies to maintain compliance and mitigate risk
  • Stay up to date with employment laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure company policies and practices are in compliance with a focus on Canada
  • Optimize our benefits offerings to provide value to our team while managing overall costs
  • Partner closely with our Legal Operations team supporting onboarding, employee relations, offboarding, and overall employee experience across multiple geographies
  • Own HR platforms including Rippling, Wagepoint, Lattice, Pave
  • Define and track people metrics to help see around corners and uncover opportunities for improvement
  • Serve as initial point of contact for first tier People questions on topics including benefits, compensation, accommodations, onboarding, offboarding, promotions, and other People programs
  • Directly manage our two person People Operations team, helping them support the business and continue to grow in their roles
  • Act as a proactive owner of our people operations processes, automating and documenting where you can to prepare us for scale
  • Working closely with Finance on payroll administration and compliance and managing our Canadian benefits program directly
