Director of Product

The position offers a competitive salary range ($147,000 - $227,000) and is remote-friendly, with compensation adjusted based on location. Requirements

• Proven experience in a product leadership role, preferably at a Director level or equivalent for an e-commerce software company
• Strong track record of developing and executing product strategies that align with business goals and customer needs
• Experience leading cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and data science
• Demonstrated expertise in setting and managing OKRs, focusing on delivering measurable business outcomes
• Excellent collaboration skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Experience teams
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and talent development
• Excellent storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and compellingly

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the General Manager to shape and refine the product vision, aligning with SmugMug's strategic goals and customer needs
• Lead the development and execution of product initiatives, prioritizing those that drive customer growth, engagement, and retention
• Effectively communicate the product vision and strategy through compelling storytelling, ensuring alignment and inspiration across teams and stakeholders
• Identify and lead high-impact initiatives to close strategic gaps and capitalize on growth opportunities
• Set Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the product management, design, and data teams to drive alignment and accountability across product development streams
• Ensure the stream-aligned teams have well-defined and impactful OKRs contributing to SmugMug's business objectives
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 7-8 individual contributors, including Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists, and Merchandising Operations
• Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement
• Proactively assess talent, address skillset gaps, and align team development strategies with organizational needs
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key cross-functional partners to ensure seamless alignment of product initiatives with market demands, customer feedback, and technical capabilities
• Serve as a key driver of cross-functional success, promoting effective communication and mutual support across teams
