Summary
Join The Trevor Project as their Director, People Operations, a strategic leadership role overseeing all aspects of human resources and employee experience. You will develop and execute people strategies aligned with organizational goals, advise leadership on workforce planning, manage compensation and benefits, and ensure legal compliance. This 6-month contract position requires 4+ years of HR experience, including 3+ years in leadership, and a strong understanding of HR practices and labor laws. Requirements
- Proven experience (4+ years) in human resources, people operations, or a related field, with 3+ years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and compliance standards
- Experience designing and implementing scalable people operations strategies in a fast-paced environment
- Proven track record in fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace culture
- Demonstrated ability to lead through change and drive organizational improvements
- Experience in nonprofit, mission-driven, or fast-growth organizations
- Familiarity with HR systems (e.g., Culture Amp, Workday, ADP)
- Certifications such as SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or similar
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics to inform decision-making
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the organizationβs people strategy in alignment with business goals and values
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management initiatives
- Analyze workforce trends and people data to inform decision-making and future strategies
- Manage compensation and benefits strategies to attract and retain top talent
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, employment regulations, and organizational policies
- Evaluate and update people operations processes to ensure efficiency and compliance
- Optimize HR systems and processes to enhance organizational efficiency
- Partner with other teams (e.g., Finance, IT) to ensure seamless integration of people operations initiatives
