Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience setting goals, creating the systems and processes for meeting the goals for educational programming
- Experience creating the strategy for a team or business function
- Demonstrated success cultivating and sustaining complex partnerships with education stakeholders
- Five (5) or more years of combined experience directing projects and leading teams
- Five (5) or more years of combined experience planning and implementing projects within districts, states, nonprofits, or consulting organizations
- Five (5) or more years combined experience working with partners outside of their organization to manage workflow or deliver services
- Eight (8) or more years combined experience working in PK-12 education, with a minimum of two (2) years experience teaching PK-12 students from traditionally underserved backgrounds with demonstrated evidence of impact
- Deep knowledge and experience with College- and Career-Ready math or ELA content and practice standards
- Experience designing impactful professional learning for educators
- Experience facilitating impactful professional learning or coaching for educators
- Experience leading relationships with clients and stakeholders in an education context
- Strong commitment to growth mindset for both adults and students, and a desire to work collaboratively to grow team skills and capabilities

Responsibilities
- Ensure strong, sustained relationships with existing partners to maximize impact and satisfaction
- Serve as a key relationship manager for district, state, and school system partners—including superintendents, CAOs, and curriculum leaders—supporting Project Sponsors and Project Leads as needed
- Monitor partnership health through regular check-ins with Project Sponsors and Project Leads, feedback loops, and data-informed insights to ensure high satisfaction
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot challenges and ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery
- Lead the transition from initial engagement to implementation by coordinating with Strategic Growth and Program teams to maintain continuity and clear communication
- Oversee the renewal process for key partnerships, helping teams identify opportunities to expand impact and sustain long-term collaboration
- Partner with project leaders to proactively address implementation or relationship challenges, ensuring strong alignment across teams
- Identify and cultivate new partnership opportunities that advance Teaching Lab’s mission and strategic priorities
- Collaborate with Program, Marketing, and Finance teams to create tailored proposals that reflect both partner needs and Teaching Lab’s service model
- Support RFP responses and contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with both programmatic and financial goals
- Facilitate seamless transitions from business development to implementation, ensuring teams are prepared, deliverables are clear, and resources are effectively mobilized
- Build and sustain high-trust relationships with senior school system leaders to deepen understanding of Teaching Lab’s research-based professional learning model
- Provide senior leadership with insights and recommendations based on partner feedback, implementation trends, and business development data
- Serve as a content or regional expert aligned to strategic priorities (e.g., subject-area, instructional coaching, leadership development, or geographic focus like Texas or California), and support internal capacity-building in those areas
- In collaboration with the operations team, ensure the alignment of partnership data across systems (e.g., CRM, project management platforms)
- Support marketing and communications by informing partner-facing materials and participating in external presentations
- Contribute to internal learning and capacity-building efforts by sharing best practices and partnership trends
- Stay abreast of key research and guidance in the field, and attend learning experiences to build skills and competencies in client management, project management, grant writing, and communications
- Engage in personal and organized learning opportunities as a team member at a values-based and mission-focused organization
- Seek and respond to feedback from staff and adjust strategic partnership operational processes accordingly
- Create and deliver training to other team members on core skills or competencies within the Director, Strategic Partnerships role which is also transferable and critical for other roles
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Strategic Growth leadership and/or Executive Team

Benefits
- $106,000 - $139,825 a year
- The full salary range for this position is $106,000 - $160,335 annually. This range represents the full earning potential for the role, including opportunities for salary growth over time based on performance, tenure, and organizational budget
- The anticipated hiring range for this position is $106,000 - $139,825
- Teaching Lab will generally cap salaries for new employees at 105% of the midpoint of the full salary range ($139,825) to allow for continued growth in the role over time
- There are two types of experience being considered for this role: Experience that is directly relevant to the role and Total Working Experience, in all fields. This includes: internships, part-time work, and consulting work
- When calculating the offer, consideration is given to candidates who possess additional qualifications (i.e., desired qualifications)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to support operational needs
- Travel could be required for the role. Travel is determined based on business needs and can vary depending on partnership/contract requirements
