Dispatch Operations Coordinator

Summary

Join EnergyHub as a Dispatch Operations Coordinator and contribute to a clean energy future by managing dispatch events for our virtual power plants. You will play a critical role in ensuring grid stability and maximizing customer participation in demand response programs. This remote, West Coast-based role offers hands-on experience in energy markets and real-time operations. The position involves analyzing and optimizing dispatch processes, coordinating internal communication, and tracking market activity. You will work up to 40 hours per week, including occasional weekends, from May through October. This is a seasonal term position.

Requirements

• Interest in grid stability and/or the climate tech industry, with an ambition to learn quickly in a hands-on role
• Operations-minded; 0-2 years experience in an operational setting
• Fluent working experience with Excel and/or Google Sheets
• Proficiency with R, and/or SQL scripting
• Experience with using initiative to drive projects to resolution and seek guidance when needed
• Demonstrated ability to work with details in a commercial setting
• Ability to identify and appropriately productize our most pressing needs
• Demonstrated diligence and a well-organized approach to work
• Access to a quiet, disturbance-free environment with reliable internet access
• Experience of successfully completing work in a remote working environment

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize the dispatch management process to increase customer participation and operational efficiency
• Assist in compiling and submitting market nominations, day-ahead bids, and reporting files, ensuring compliance with market deadlines
• Help coordinate internal communication to ensure flawless dispatch events and follow escalation policies where needed
• Track market activity and recommend actions to maintain compliance
• Contribute to internal tracking systems to prepare teams for critical dispatch events
• Assist in tracking and resolving customer inquiries related to dispatches
• Document lessons learned and recommend improvements to workflows
• Take ownership of reporting tools and conduct ad hoc analysis to support dispatch operations
• Other duties as assigned
