Engineering Manager, Remote - Worldwide

Summary

The job is for an Engineering Manager on the foundations team at Invisible, a fast-growing tech-enabled service company. The role involves leading a team of Software Engineers to ensure a robust, scalable, reliable foundation for the engineering organization, collaborating with stakeholders, and managing a team of skilled Software Engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering work experience, including hands-on technical management building holistic web based software solution, API design, and interactions between servers and clients
• Significant experience developing applications in team environments
• Able to research and synthesize new technologies (frameworks, libraries, techniques) and explain and evangelize them to more junior engineers

Responsibilities

• Lead a team that delivers a stable, effective, and usable platform
• Work with your team and cross functional partners to define and influence strategy
• Lead and mentor a team of skilled Software Engineers while fostering a collaborative environment with Stakeholders
• Take charge of the team's overall performance, ensuring strategic project goals are met with technical excellence
• Manage the goals and development plans of individual team members to ensure that they’re learning and growing
• Recruit, interview, and hire exceptional talent for the team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with architecting and building interfaces for a core API
• Experience working with GraphQL
• Backend language experience, preferably Python (Flask/Django/etc.)
