Estimator

Summary

The job is for an Estimator at DCS, where the employee will help teams achieve project objectives by developing internal cost estimates and requesting bids from suppliers. The role involves supporting pre-contract and operations with project costs and pricing objectives, utilizing data analysis to develop mechanical installation estimates, building vendor relations, and maintaining organized documentation throughout the project.

Requirements

• You have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience (Material Handling Industry preferred)
• You have a college degree (Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Support Pre-Contract and Operations with project costs and pricing objectives
• Utilize past experience, data analysis, and metrics to develop mechanical installation estimates
• Utilize tools and data analysis to create bid comparisons
• Build and develop vendor relations and strategies
• Select appropriate vendors for bidding various needs in concert with internal teams
• Develop RFQ documentation for vendors and suppliers
• Develop budgetary cost models
• Assist in submission of bid projects
• Build tools necessary for efficient estimating
• Present budgetary cost models to internal operations teams and leaders
• Maintain organized and accurate documentation throughout the project
• Partner with Applications engineering and Purchasing to meet specific needs and scope of each job bid

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with conveyor installation
• Experience with estimating mechanical installation costs
• Experience or readiness to learn Sage Intacct ERP and ProCore Project Management Software
