Summary
Join ProjectDiscovery, an open-source security company, as their Founding Marketing Lead. This is a unique opportunity to build the entire marketing engine from the ground up, encompassing positioning, programs, and pipeline. You will be responsible for developing and executing the marketing strategy, defining the value proposition, creating high-quality content, partnering with sales, leading event strategy, running paid and organic campaigns, and working with analysts. The role requires a self-starting product or content marketer with experience in cybersecurity startups and a proven track record of hitting pipeline goals. The position is remote within the United States and offers competitive compensation and benefits. Requirements
- A self-starting product or content marketer who has been the first marketing hire at a cybersecurity startup with fewer than 50 people
- Experienced with go to market across product, sales, and content
- Strong at translating technical capabilities into business value
- Comfortable writing, editing, and producing both long form and short form content
- Data-driven and experiment-minded, with a track record of hitting pipeline goals
- Based in the United States
Responsibilities
- Build and execute our marketing strategy from the ground up
- Define and own our value proposition, positioning, and messaging across the company
- Create high-quality content like sales collateral, customer case studies, blogs, videos, and webinars that educate users and drive conversion
- Partner with sales to develop talk tracks, outreach materials, and inside sales collateral that support pipeline growth
- Lead our event strategy including industry conferences, co-marketing with partners, and customer dinners
- Run both paid and organic campaigns across LinkedIn, Reddit, newsletters, and other channels to generate leads
- Own marketing-sourced pipeline targets in collaboration with SDRs and any external demand partners
- Work with analysts like Gartner and Forrester to shape market perception and support enterprise sales
- Support community and open source growth
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiar with the vulnerability management or AppSec space
- Have run account based marketing campaigns that paired SDRs with personalized content
- Have executed event strategies that turned conference presence into pipeline
- Have worked with analyst firms to shape company positioning in formal reports
- Are active in the cybersecurity marketing community
- Have supported community-driven or open source developer tools
