Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and vision to deliver excellent student outcomes; quality assurance and enhancement that is commended by the QAA
  • Support the development of an innovative and quality assured digital pedagogy for Study Group
  • Lead and support our digital business programme team
  • Take responsibility for current SGDL Digital International Foundation Programmes: Business Management (Level 3) and Digital Pre-Masters: Business Management (Level 6) programmes
  • Lead the development of the academic tutorial programme for Digital Business programmes
  • Lead any new programmes which are added to the Digital Academic Programme portfolio which include humanities or social science subjects
  • Communicate SGDL’s vision and implement actions to ensure continuous improvement which enables SGDL students to continue to achieve outstanding outcomes
  • Contribute to planning and development including human resources; academic development; learning, teaching and assessment; and academic quality assurance and enhancement
  • Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and identify appropriate actions to solve problems and enhance SGDL delivery
  • Provide effective and efficient academic management and co-ordination of staff resources working closely with the relevant SGDL team members
  • Take responsibility for academic standards, the quality of learning opportunities, the accuracy and completeness of published information, ensuring that they are managed appropriately and in accordance with the policies and procedures of SGDL
  • Contribute to the Annual Monitoring Reports (AMRs) and progress against actions in the Centre Action Plan (CAP)
  • Contribute to analysing data and feedback from a wide variety of sources to monitor progress towards progression targets, planning and implementing remedial actions where necessary
  • Produce tracking data, reports, analysis and evaluation for relevant stakeholders
  • Support the development of an innovative and quality assured digital pedagogy
  • Contribute to delivering the curriculum effectively and efficiently
  • Teach classes if required for sickness cover, or if there are vacancy gaps, or for tutor development support. The hours may vary depending on operational needs but there will not be weekly teaching commitments
  • Work closely with the other SGDL team members and network staff to ensure that appropriate, current and relevant subject, academic skills, digital skills, and language development are integrated and embedded
  • Support the development of the SGDL virtual learning environment (VLE) and other relevant digital apps and resources
  • Support a cost-conscious working environment in SGDL, at the same time as delivering a quality service and experience to students
  • Contribute to ensuring that SGDL is compliant in relation to Safeguarding responsibilities and staff across SGDL are aware of their obligations/requirements
  • Manage and address day-to-day issues that arise ensuring that solutions are sought and problems resolved effectively and efficiently
