Summary

Join Caylent, a cloud native services company, as their Director of Business Development – Private Equity. Grow Caylent’s presence within the private equity ecosystem by developing and managing relationships with PE firms, operating partners, and portfolio company executives. Collaborate with AWS’ Private Equity Business Development organization. This quota-carrying role focuses on new business and expanding existing relationships. The ideal candidate is a self-starter comfortable in dynamic environments and possesses experience in enterprise or midmarket sales, understands private equity dynamics, and excels at building trust with senior decision-makers. Lead the full sales cycle, serve as Caylent’s primary contact for AWS’ Private Equity BD team, customize go-to-market strategies, and collaborate with internal teams. Represent Caylent at industry events. This is a remote position.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, enterprise sales, or partner/channel sales—ideally in cloud consulting, enterprise software, or related professional services
  • Proven success managing complex sales cycles and engaging with senior-level stakeholders, including C-suite executives
  • Familiarity with private equity investment models, portfolio operations, and value creation strategies
  • Ability to operate independently and drive results with minimal oversight, while remaining highly collaborative with internal and external partners
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship management skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with private equity firms, operating partners, and portfolio company executives to drive adoption of Caylent’s cloud consulting services
  • Lead the full sales cycle—from pipeline generation through deal closure—for both new and existing portfolio companies
  • Serve as Caylent’s primary point of contact for AWS’ Private Equity BD team, managing joint GTM activities and co-selling motions
  • Customize go-to-market strategies to align with individual PE firm portfolio structures, sector focus areas, and value creation objectives
  • Collaborate with Caylent’s internal sales, strategy, and marketing teams to develop client proposals, refine messaging, and align on sales initiatives
  • Represent Caylent at relevant AWS, private equity, and industry events to promote brand visibility and build new relationships

Preferred Qualifications

  • General knowledge of cloud computing or AWS preferred
  • Direct experience with PE-backed companies is strongly preferred
