Summary

Join EnglishScore as the Head of Business Development in Peru and drive significant revenue growth in the Peruvian and Chilean markets. This fast-paced role requires a highly entrepreneurial and commercially focused individual with strong leadership and management skills. You will be responsible for developing and managing sales pipelines, building key commercial relationships with major clients and partners, and chairing a weekly working group. Success will be measured by revenue generated. The role offers a hybrid work model with a location in Lima, Peru. The position is either a fixed-term contract or a permanent role.

Requirements

  • Be target-oriented and very comfortable with commercial / revenue targets
  • Be a self-starter, who can work out what needs to be done, and gets it done
  • Be very comfortable, confident and competent in developing commercial relationships at a senior level; and be able to point to a number of experiences that have resulted in success and revenue growth
  • Have a natural commercial acumen, and an entrepreneurial side that allows you to think on your feet and adapt to the context as it evolves in front of you
  • Be super-organised, productive and professional - and others remark on how you leave this impression on them
  • Be friendly and cooperative - partners and colleagues like to work with you
  • Be a good communicator in the local languages that you deem to be important to achieve the objectives, and have very good English communication skills (EnglishScore 500+)

Responsibilities

  • Own the development and progression of sales pipelines (employers and education), and the ultimate results as measured in signed up accounts and revenue
  • Own the development of commercial relationships with marquee clients (universities, employers) and partners (ecommerce, EdTech, government, education and industry); bringing in network connections, and senior players from EnglishScore and British Council as required
  • Chair a weekly/fortnightly working group of participants from the EnglishScore central team and the British Council local teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have relevant direct and indirect connections that you can draw on
  • Have some experience in a relevant sector, such as education, HR, recruitment or SaaS
