Summary

Join our team as the Head of Communications and spearhead strategic communications, thought leadership initiatives, and media and PR campaigns to elevate the FOLX story in the press and increase consumer awareness. This role is for you if you have a deep passion for serving the LGBTQIA+ community, a dedication to pushing the envelope with groundbreaking narratives, and an ability to be agile in dynamic conditions.

Requirements

  • Passion for serving the LGBTQIA community
  • 7+ years relevant experience in communications roles, ideally with healthcare/health tech and/or consumer experience
  • Proven experience in developing and executing strategic communication plans that deliver impactful results
  • Strong portfolio of published work that demonstrates exceptional editorial voice, creative vision, and the ability to craft compelling business narratives
  • Strong existing relationships with media and experience managing media relations
  • An operator mindset - you’re excited to both drive strategy and execute the work
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to deliver feedback thoughtfully and receive it gracefully
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Journalism experience would be a bonus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic communications roadmap aligned with FOLX Health’s business objectives and our research initiatives
  • Craft compelling business narratives to elevate FOLX Health’s brand and mission
  • Support executive communications, including thought leadership programs and speaking opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with top-tier media, securing coverage that highlights FOLX Health’s unique value proposition
  • Create and manage PR campaigns that promote brand awareness and reinforce our position as a leader in LGBTQIA+ healthcare
  • Manage media outreach programs, including drafting press releases, managing media inquiries, and preparing executives for speaking engagements
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of communication programs and initiatives, using data to inform future strategy
  • Manage external agencies and vendors to ensure alignment with FOLX Health’s communication goals
