Summary

Join BuzzFeed, Inc. as the VP of International, a strategic senior leadership role overseeing ad sales, revenue operations, publishing, and strategy for international editions and partnerships. This full-time position, ideally based in Los Angeles (remote options considered), requires managing international teams, driving revenue growth, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders. You will be responsible for the revenue and audience growth of owned and operated editions in Canada and Latin America, as well as the success of license partnerships and joint ventures globally. The ideal candidate is performance-driven, analytical, and experienced in digital publishing and advertising sales. This role reports to the President of Studio.

Requirements

  • Have 8+ years of digital publishing and ad sales experience
  • Have experience working in an international capacity and experience with licenses or joint ventures
  • Have experience managing business operations at scale
  • Have a deep understanding of the digital landscape and an adoration of its turbulence and unpredictability
  • Have a demonstrated track-record of successful cross-departmental collaboration
  • Have a love of and fluency with data
  • Be a very strong communicator
  • Be an experienced and savvy people-manager with an eye for talent
  • Have an ambitious and competitive drive, always chasing growth and expansion

Responsibilities

  • Manage and inspire local business and content teams across video, social and dotcom content, for our primary brands in each market (BuzzFeed, Tasty, HuffPost and more.)
  • Drive revenue growth and seek out new revenue-generating opportunities
  • Liaise regularly with stakeholders from our International partnerships and JVs - advising them on strategy, sharing content and tech developments, providing key data and ensuring the continued success and growth of the partnerships
  • Report on audience and revenue data and insights across the International portfolio
  • Grow and diversify business interests in LATAM, Canada, and India
  • Look to further expand BuzzFeed Internationalโ€™s network into new regions and business categories
  • Forge and maintain strong relationships with US stakeholders to ensure strong connectivity for International and its editions within the larger BuzzFeed ecosystem
  • Analyze and report on publishing metrics and audience data across all sites and platforms in order to form smart strategies to ensure continued health and encourage growth
  • Manage and inspire the operations, physical production and project management functions across international to ensure lean and efficient systems are maintained
  • Act as a brand ambassador and thought leader in public forums and across communications
  • Partner with administrative teams in their support of international markets, ensuring legal, accounting and HR policies and practices are followed by all offices
