Summary
Join InsideTrack, a nonprofit organization dedicated to student success, as a full-time Coach! You will work with prospective and enrolled students at Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs), helping them achieve their educational and career goals through coaching sessions conducted via phone, email, and text. This role involves building strong student relationships, assisting with goal planning, tracking progress, and maintaining accurate student records. InsideTrack provides comprehensive training on its coaching methodology and technology. The position offers a competitive hourly salary, benefits, and the opportunity to make a significant impact on students' lives. The work can be performed remotely or in the Portland, OR office, with flexible hours.
Requirements
- A genuine passion for supporting first-generation and Latine students in navigating the path to higher education
- Ability to craft compelling, audience-specific messages across diverse platforms, including email, text, phone calls, and Zoom
- Strong interpersonal skills and a natural ability to establish trust and meaningful connections with students from diverse backgrounds
- Latine cultural fluency and an authentic affinity for Latine communities
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with grace under pressure, while maintaining professionalism and composure
- A proactive approach to gathering relevant information and resources to guide coaching conversations effectively
- Comfort with technology, including the use of contact management software and a proven ability to quickly master new digital tools and platforms
- Capacity to identify trends and insights from coaching interactions and recommend actionable strategies based on data
- Outstanding ability to meet deadlines, prioritize simultaneous requests, and deliver high-quality work in both structured and unstructured environments
- Proven ability to foster and maintain strong working relationships in a remote environment
- Skilled at interpreting complex information, engaging students in meaningful dialogue, and listening attentively to their needs and concerns
- A bachelorโs degree is required, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
Responsibilities
- Maintain an active roster of students through continuous outreach, scheduling coaching sessions, and ensuring consistent engagement
- Effectively communicate the benefits of coaching to inspire students to participate in sessions and take actionable steps in their college journey
- Quickly establish rapport with students to enhance their experience, increase engagement with coaching, and support their overall success
- Help students create tailored academic and career plans by identifying their values, goals, needs, and obstacles
- Develop strategies to achieve key benchmarks, regularly monitor progress, and report on goal attainment for your roster
- Keep accurate and up-to-date student records in contact management systems to support seamless tracking and reporting
- Assess and forecast studentsโ likelihood to remain enrolled or progress in their educational journeys, and report insights as needed
- Actively participate in the coaching training program, completing milestones at the expected pace to grow as a professional
- Attend team meetings and one-on-one sessions to share insights, align on goals, and stay connected with colleagues
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support the program and its mission
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Familiarity with college programs and the experience of first-gen and or Latine students
Benefits
- The starting salary is $ 21.64/hr
