Summary

Join BitMEX's Institutional Business Development team as an Institutional Sales Manager to build relationships with and drive revenue from institutional clients, primarily hedge funds and asset managers. You will onboard new clients, provide support, promote BitMEX products, and gather client feedback to improve the platform. The role requires close collaboration with product and engineering teams. A key focus is expanding the client base and increasing trading volume and revenue. You will represent BitMEX at industry conferences and maintain a deep understanding of the cryptocurrency market. This position demands strong communication, strategic thinking, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience engaging with Hedge Fund and Asset Manager clients within the financial services industry
  • Proven track record of achieving sales KPIs and successfully expanding client bases
  • Strong understanding of digital currencies and a genuine passion for the crypto space
  • Exceptional client-facing communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with a proven ability to engage professionally with high-value clients
  • Strong strategic thinking capability to map out client universe and understand and address complex client needs
  • Enjoy networking and building rapport in professional settings
  • An entrepreneurial mentality with a strong sense of personal accountability and ownership
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and excel with limited direction
  • A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, showcasing leadership potential and ambition

Responsibilities

  • Identify new prospect clients, guiding them through onboarding and initial trading phases
  • Deliver best-in-class coverage and support to our Institutional and individual VIP clients, fostering deep relationships to drive increased trading volumes, liquidity, and loyalty
  • Promote available tools, products, and strategies to empower clients in maximizing their trading potential on the BitMEX platform
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for our Institutional customers, owning all direct communications
  • Gather, analyse, and regularly report on client feedback, including issues, recommendations, and criticisms, linking them directly to trading activity
  • Collaborate closely with BitMEX Product and Engineering teams to explain the priority of client issues and craft effective solutions, including writing specific improvement proposals
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the BitMEX trading platform, current and future product/service offerings, and their impact on the client base
  • Clearly articulate the BitMEX value proposition and tailor it to diverse client segments
  • Suggest and implement process enhancements to boost team efficiency and elevate coverage quality
  • Maintain a current awareness of industry-related developments and competitive landscapes
  • Represent BitMEX at relevant industry conferences (occasional travel required) to stay abreast of developments, enhance brand image, and solidify relationships

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing client relationships within the client sector and the cryptocurrency industry are highly desirable, but not required
  • Experience of managing electronic trading relationships with the target client group is strongly preferred
  • Trading experience with Bitcoin or other digital asset classes is preferred
