IT Project Manager

Summary

Join our client, a leading provider of market intelligence for the international schools sector, as an IT Project Manager to support the final stages of a major project. This six-month contract role involves overseeing project scope, leading a cross-functional team, managing budgets, and ensuring quality assurance. You will be responsible for stakeholder engagement, risk management, and post-implementation review. The ideal candidate possesses extensive IT project management experience, specific technical skills, and strong leadership qualities. While additional projects may follow, this role focuses on successfully completing the current project.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as an IT Project Manager, with proven success managing complex projects
• Experience in Salesforce, ISO 27001, and Sharepoint
• Demonstrated experience in front and backend system integrations, particularly in data-centric environments
• Familiarity with both traditional and Agile project management methodologies
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, open approach to teamwork
• Strong Organization and multitasking skills with attention to detail
• Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to stay calm under pressure

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the current project scope, objectives, and deliverables, adjusting them where required, in collaboration with stakeholders
• Continue to ensure the key requirements for the front and back-end overhaul are aligned with business goals and end-user needs
• Produce a detailed project plan that includes timelines, milestones, and resources for the final phases of the development
• Lead a small, cross-functional team, based in the Philippines, which consists of Full Stack Developers, Data Manager, Data Engineer, Data Analyst, QA Specialist and Cloud Ops Engineer as well as and I.T & Security Manager (based in the UK) 2 including software developers, data engineers, UX/UI designers, and system architects
• Facilitate effective communication across departments to align project goals and tasks
• Mentor and guide team members. This is a fairly new team who already work in a collaborative environment. The Project Manager will continue to factor in their development and training, ensuring they have the skills to meet future project requirements
• Act as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders and project teams
• Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and potential delays
• Engage with senior leadership to ensure the project supports strategic business objectives
• Reassess and manage the project budget, ensuring resources are efficiently allocated
• Identify and address resource gaps, working with HR and procurement to ensure the necessary talent and tools are in place
• Monitor and report on financial metrics related to the project, adjusting plans as necessary to stay within budget
• Proactively identify and assess project risks, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impact
• Troubleshoot issues as they arise, ensuring quick and effective resolutions to keep the project on track. Develop contingency plans to address potential project obstacles
• Work closely with the QA team to ensure system integrity and performance through rigorous testing protocols
• Oversee quality control efforts to confirm the project meets technical and user requirements
• Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and implement necessary changes based on feedback
• Lead a comprehensive project debrief to evaluate outcomes against objectives
• Identify lessons learned and recommend process improvements for future projects
• Oversee initial support post-implementation, ensuring smooth transition to maintenance teams
