Summary

Flock Safety is seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join their team. The IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, providing technical support, and ensuring system security and scalability. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance are required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Proven experience as an IT Systems Engineer or similar role, with a minimum of 5 years in IT infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Experience providing world class technical support to internal customers by isolating, diagnosing, reproducing and solving technical issues
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs)
  • Proficiency in server administration and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, KVM)
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Strong knowledge of MacOS, Windows, and Linux operating systems, as well as scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
  • Extensive experience managing Mobile Device Management systems (Kandji, Jamf, etc)
  • Previous experience owning a Full Lifecycle Asset Management program
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and IT service management principles

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization environments
  • Develop and implement system configurations, standards, and procedures to ensure optimal performance, security, and compliance
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operations
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate new technologies and solutions into existing systems and infrastructure
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues and resolving them in a timely manner
  • Manage system backups, disaster recovery planning, and security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve IT infrastructure and systems
  • Serve as the IT Support technical liaison between cross functional partner teams and departments by fleshing out requests, gaining insight into their pain points, and delivering quality solutions
