Junior Accountant

Summary

Join Servus Credit Union, Alberta's largest member-owned credit union, as a Junior Accountant! Reporting to the Accounts Payable and Card Lead, you will reconcile and post entries, supporting the Accounting Operations and Financial Reporting teams. This role requires strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills. Responsibilities include supporting accounts payable functions, assisting with ad hoc accounting entries and analysis, and contributing to special projects. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience and be working towards an accounting certificate or diploma. Requirements

• Working towards an accounting certificate or diploma is considered an asset
• Between 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered

Responsibilities

• Provide support for various accounts payable functions, including supporting the processing of bonds of indemnity and official cheques, recurring entries, fraud write-offs, reviewing large vendor invoices, and payments made to the CRA
• Assist with various ad hoc accounting operation entries and analysis as required
• Provide support for special projects and initiatives as required
