Join us at Cisco ThousandEyes as we seek an exceptional researcher with strong leadership and management skills to lead our Internet Insights team. As a research manager, you will oversee projects that leverage our unparalleled internet-scale visibility data to design algorithms and solutions for customers' daily operational challenges.

Requirements

• PhD or MS in Computer Science
• 5+ years of management experience
• Proven track record of managing research teams and leading projects from inception to production
• Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and projects
• Established portfolio of network measurement research projects
• Deep understanding of internet architecture (applications, CDNs, BGP, etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of Internet protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, TLS, DNS, BGP, HTTP, etc.)
• Proficiency in Python
• Proficiency with network monitoring tools (e.g., tcpdump, ping, etc.)
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Hadoop)
• Experience with data science and MLOps tools (e.g., Spark, Flink)
• Experience in developing AI/ML solutions, preferably within networking

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of researchers, data scientists, and engineers in creating the Google Maps of the Internet
• Own research projects that leverage internet-scale visibility data to design algorithms and solutions for customers' daily operational challenges
• Work closely with the product team to understand customers' daily operational challenges and translate them into technical challenges
• Lead your team of researchers in designing algorithms and building PoCs to solve these challenges
• Collaborate with engineering teams to productionize your research PoCs, delivering valuable solutions into the hands of our customers
