Summary

Join SweetRush, a leading learning and development firm, as a Learning Experience Designer (LXD)! This remote, full-time (Costa Rica) or freelance (India) position offers a one-year contract designing large learning programs for a major food manufacturer. As LXD, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders and the SweetRush team, creating engaging learning experiences across various modalities. You will leverage your instructional design expertise and strong communication skills to develop impactful content and collaborate with a cross-functional team. The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of five years of experience in a relevant field and a portfolio showcasing their work. This role requires strong client interaction, excellent writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

Requirements

  • Associateโ€™s degree or equivalent
  • Suggested minimum of five years of experience in an educational, corporate training, consultation, or professional services environment, with an emphasis on eLearning and multimedia technologies
  • Portfolio/samples of work

Responsibilities

  • Interpret audience insights documents and/or personas descriptions, learning objectives, content analysis documents, business needs and constraints, mental model shifts, and high-level outlines to create effective and engaging learner experiences in a variety of modalities, such as eLearning, vILT, ILT, games, videos, performance support materials, and others
  • Create content for learning experiences
  • Conduct content analysis on client content
  • Outline performance and knowledge objectives for the learning experience
  • Identify content gaps
  • Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) to fill in content gaps
  • Perform research to develop original content to fill in content gaps
  • Create documents, such as flow charts, content maps, design documents, and storyboards, to communicate the content and design of the learning experience with both the client and SweetRush production teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional project team leads, such as the Lead Learning Experience Designer, Creative Director, Art Director, and Technical Lead, during all phases of the project to design engaging and effective learning experiences within project scope constraints
  • Present and explain authored project documents, such as flow charts, content maps, design documents, and storyboards, to clients to prepare them for their reviews
  • Receive and incorporate feedback from the Lead Learning Experience Designer, other project team leads, and the client
  • Consult with the client on feedback that creates a less effective or engaging experience for the learners
  • Participate in individual project teams as an empathetic, consultative, positive, and flexible team member

Preferred Qualifications

  • Instructional design theory
  • Strong client and cross-functional team interaction skills: written, in-person, and remote verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding writing skills, with the ability to write for a variety of audiences with ease
  • Self-organizing with excellent time management skills
  • Agile switch-tasker: can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Ability to monitor and manage assigned project tasks and timelines, prioritize and problem-solve
  • Collaborative and receives constructive feedback well
  • Flexible, creative, and passionate about learning experience design
