Requirements

  • In-depth understanding of financial regulations, particularly in fintech, payments, and crypto-related legal frameworks
  • Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements related to financial services, payments, and crypto transactions
  • Ability to assess legal risks and propose business-oriented solutions that align with regulatory requirements
  • Strong ability to structure legal processes and documentation efficiently, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, with a proven track record of effectively communicating legal matters to internal and external stakeholders
  • Adaptable, highly organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment where legal and regulatory challenges constantly evolve

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate legal workflows
  • Implement and manage the workflows and standardization effort for multiple product development initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations in Gibraltar and in LatAm
  • Utilize project management tools
  • Standardize and automate the workflows required to track legal deliverables, deadlines, async negotiation and cross-functional dependencies
  • Set up legal frameworks
  • Support the Business and Product team by setting up legal frameworks for each product lifecycle phase, from ideation to execution, including intellectual property, contracts, regulatory approvals, and risk assessments
  • Perform legal regulatory analysis
  • Analyze and offer guidance for the design, implementation, and offering of new financial products and services that drive value and revenue for the Business team
  • Create and manage legal agreements
  • Have a tight control and ownership over all of the legal documents related to the Business & Product. partnerships, product features, and institutional clients
  • Ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements
  • Constantly monitor the regulatory environments that may change or affect any of the Business team operations, particularly in the cryptocurrency, fintech, and payments sectors and prepare compliance strategies to meet such new standards
  • Monitor regulatory modifications that could have an impact to the Bisto Business products and, if any, communicate risks to stakeholders
  • Act as the key legal partner in product development teams, working closely with business, product, and compliance teams to foster innovation within legal boundaries
  • Use collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace) to maintain effective and transparent communication with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Support the implementation of legal solutions, ensuring business objectives align with risk mitigation strategies
  • Record and distribute video updates using Loom to share legal advice and product status asynchronously across teams
  • Balance competing priorities across multiple ongoing projects and legal tasks
  • Implement prioritization frameworks (e.g., Eisenhower Matrix, Todoist) to ensure the most urgent and high-impact legal matters receive timely attention
  • Utilize time-tracking tools (e.g., Pomodoro Timer, RescueTime) to optimize personal productivity and ensure focus on key legal tasks without interruptions
  • Automate routine legal processes such as contract generation, filing, and approval workflows using platforms like Zapier or Power Automate
  • Continuously identify opportunities for improving efficiency in managing legal documentation, contract review, and product workflows
  • Develop and maintain legal dashboards (using Power BI/Tableau) to provide real-time insights into the progress of legal matters, regulatory updates, and project statuses for leadership and other stakeholders
  • Deliver reports and presentations on key legal risks, compliance status, and project updates, providing clear visibility to C-level executives and business unit leaders
  • Utilize tools like Notion to centralize legal documentation, status reports, and action items for easy access by relevant teams
  • Mentor junior legal associates and other team members, helping them navigate complex legal challenges while ensuring adherence to the company's values and policies
  • Lead BB workshops and brainstorming sessions using tools like Miro to align legal and business strategies with long-term product goals
