Management Accountant

Summary

Join AFRY, an international consulting, design, and engineering company, as a Management Accountant in our UK Finance Team based in Oxford. This six-month fixed-term role offers the potential to become permanent. You will contribute to accurate, timely, and insightful financial operations, working closely with various stakeholders. Key responsibilities include leading monthly management accounting, overseeing balance sheet control, supporting audits, ensuring compliance, collaborating on accounts payable/receivable, and providing financial input for proposals. The role is a hybrid model, with two days a week in the Oxford office and the remainder remote. AFRY values work-life balance and offers flexible working arrangements.

Requirements

• Solid experience in finance within a medium to large organisation
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with statutory accounts
• Excellent Excel skills and a knack for turning data into meaningful insights
• A commercial mindset with the confidence to challenge and improve processes
• Great communication skills and the ability to work well independently and in teams
• A proactive, organised approach in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly management accounting for our M&A division
• Oversee balance sheet control, reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy
• Support external audits and prepare annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS, VAT, and corporate tax regulations
• Collaborate with our finance team and manage accounts payable/receivable
• Provide financial input for proposals and client/vendor due diligence
