Summary

Join a leading national nonprofit organization addressing a complex neurodegenerative disease as a Manager, Development. This remote position, ideally based in the DC, MD, VA area, focuses on implementing fundraising events and cultivating community and corporate partnerships in the Washington, DC metro area. You will execute a comprehensive development strategy to achieve a $500,000+ revenue goal, plan and manage fundraising event logistics, and build relationships with local organizations and donors. Collaboration with internal teams and volunteers is crucial for successful event delivery. The role also involves marketing, public relations, and representing the organization at community events. This position requires a bachelor's degree, 3+ years of relevant experience, and excellent organizational and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, event planning, donor and sponsor cultivation, or public engagement
  • Experience using online fundraising platforms, with an ability to interpret data and optimize outreach
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects; knows when to consult leadership
  • Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates sound judgment with sensitive information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of donor databases (e.g., Salesforce, Blackbaud)
  • Must have a valid driverโ€™s license and access to an insured vehicle (regional travel required)

Responsibilities

  • Execute a comprehensive development strategy to achieve a revenue goal of $500,000+
  • Plan and manage logistics for multiple fundraising events, including materials, marketing, and day-of execution
  • Recruit, engage, and retain event committee members and community partners
  • Build and sustain relationships with local organizations, corporate partners, and donors
  • Collaborate with internal teams and volunteer committees for successful event delivery
  • Ensure adherence to established budgets for all events and activities
  • Work with care-focused teams to include individuals and families in awareness and fundraising campaigns
  • Coordinate marketing and public relations efforts with internal communication teams
  • Conduct in-person and virtual outreach with corporate partners, donors, vendors, and volunteers
  • Represent the organization at community events and speaking engagements
  • Serve as a key contributor to the territory's development team, assisting directors and peers as needed
  • Ensure alignment with organizational standards and policies
  • Participate in staff meetings and public events as necessary
  • Coordinate with colleagues across departments to strengthen fundraising and mission-driven activities
  • Support other projects and responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with tools like Canva, Adobe Suite, Tableau, Greater Giving, or Spekit
