The position offers a hybrid work model (fully remote in the US and hybrid in Ghana) and is open to candidates based in Accra, Ghana or the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, experience in public health and health financing, and demonstrated leadership abilities. Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills (quantitative and/or qualitative research experience)
  • Progressive years of hands-on and technical experience in public health, and health financing experience will be an asset
  • Demonstrated growth in responsibilities over time, including progressively increased management experience and leadership roles
  • Ability to work with multicultural teams
  • Familiarity with core components of Health System Strengthening
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Fluency in English and have excellent verbal, and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Support HSS Practice Areas during high-demand periods by delivering evidence reviews, analytical reports, policy briefs, and presentations to meet organizational needs effectively
  • Provide health financing and economics expertise, including costing and cost-effectiveness analysis, to ensure alignment with HSS strategies across teams and settings
  • Support the multi-country and multi-disciplinary project BIRCH (Building Integrated Readiness for Community Health) from the HSS side
  • Provide coordination and project management support to prepare for and follow up on meeting action plans, workplans and department commitments from HSS teams
  • Liaise closely with the global monitoring, evaluation and learning team, to ensure effective integration and collaboration across technical areas
  • Co-lead project management for assigned project-specific work as needed
  • Support proposal development efforts within the HSS team
  • Help to foster a culture of equity, inclusion, learning, and results orientation within HSS, ensuring alignment with organizational values and priorities
  • Liaise with practice teams within HSS to create and update effective action plans, and work plans and proactively track progress on quarterly/annual goals
  • Support the HSS team in knowledge management. Work with the HSS team to update HSS-related documents on Slite
  • Coordinate HSS input into annual planning
  • Process and synchronise HSS requests from various persons in the organisation
  • Plan and organise meetings as needed for and with HSS team members including agenda development, action item communication, tracking action item completion
  • Manage the HSS response time for organisation requests within set parameters
  • Development or co-creation of tools to improve organization and tracking of progress against Key Results
  • Support communication around key achievements of the HSS team
  • Facilitate robust sharing and dissemination of learnings within and outside the organization via brown bags or learning sessions
  • Directly contribute or support the integration of appropriate HSS members towards meeting prep for funders and proposal development as needed
  • Provide coordination and project management support to prepare for and follow up on relevant opportunities outside of the organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • You have strong project and process management skills
  • You have demonstrated analytical skills including an understanding of health financing principles
  • You have exceptional communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills to interface with diverse stakeholders in a range of multi-disciplinary settings
  • You are mission-driven with a commitment to health, social justice and gender equity
  • You have strong knowledge of Excel and previous experience with data analysis. Familiarity with Stata, R, Python

  • The Band for this position: GHA- 3
  • For Ghana , the range is $22,260 USD -$42,046 USD dependent upon experience doing an equivalent role. Please note that this compensation is subject to statutory taxes
  • For the United States , the range is $63,298 USD - $79,633 USD dependent upon experience doing an equivalent role. Please note that this compensation is subject to statutory taxes
