Join Ledger Investing, a Y Combinator-backed Insurtech startup, as a senior-level professional driving business development and transaction execution for casualty insurance-linked securities (ILS). You will lead business development with insurance/reinsurance companies, oversee the transaction process from initial pitch to execution, and actively participate in marketing and negotiations. This role requires 10+ years of experience in reinsurance broking, P&C ILS origination, or investment banking within the insurance/reinsurance sector. A strong network within the industry, in-depth knowledge of P&C insurance and reinsurance, and exceptional communication and analytical skills are essential. Requirements
- 10+ years experience in reinsurance broking (origination roles), P&C ILS origination, or investment banking or strategic advisory experience with insurance and reinsurance companies required
- Extensive network with insurance/reinsurance company executives
- In-depth knowledge of PC insurance and reinsurance, strong understanding of casualty risks, and/or familiarity with insurance-linked securities or structured finance products
- Understanding of re/insurance company capital models
- Entrepreneurial mindset with proven ability to sell capital-efficient products to C-suite executives
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with specific ability to communicate complex concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validity
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
- Bachelorโs degree required
Responsibilities
- Lead business development with insurance/reinsurance companies to source casualty ILS transactions
- Working with our Actuarial and Capital Markets teams, oversee the transaction process from the initial pitch to the risk originator to mandate execution, including financial modeling and deal pitches and presentations
- Actively participate in marketing, transaction due diligence, and term negotiations leading to transaction closing
