Join Horizon Services, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to addiction treatment, as a Marketing and Communications Specialist. This full-time, primarily remote position involves supporting the Marketing and Outreach Department in achieving community engagement and marketing goals. You will contribute to maintaining Horizon's brand, creating marketing materials, planning events, and providing administrative support. The role requires strong communication, project management, and design skills. You will play a vital role in raising awareness about substance use disorder and mental health within the community. - Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Proven experience in event planning and coordination
- Proficiency in Canva graphic design software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Utilize Microsoft Workspace tools for various tasks and projects
Responsibilities
- Collaborate in systematization of recurring projects, as well as managing the organization and deadlines of others
- Assist the team in generating polished and branded multi-media marketing assets that educate, destigmatize, and highlight the expertise of our agency
- Demonstrate skills and creativity around ideation and execution of celebratory, outreach events throughout the year
- Using Gantt charts or a similar project management tool, you will be responsible for setting up projects, timelines, and deliverables for the team
- Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and assist in providing customer service to the agency’s staff
- Help in writing and distribution of press releases
- Coordinate and manage outreach events, including community engagement activities
- Design, plan, produce, and edit branded marketing materials, presentations, videos, and other media content as needed
- An understanding of the principles of effective storytelling in educational marketing
- Assist in the creation and distribution of podcast content
- Help systematize the generation of curated content for ongoing staff and stakeholder newsletters showcasing projects, company news, and industry insights
Preferred Qualifications
- An understanding of principles of Graphic Design and storytelling
- Knowledge of healthcare, behavioral healthcare, and substance use disorder treatment systems
- Skilled in use of tools like Canva, Riverside Studio, Vyond, audio/video editing software, storyboarding and other tools and strategies to produce creative work
- A portfolio of creative work to demonstrate experience is preferred
