Join Scholars of Finance, a rapidly growing organization dedicated to transforming the financial system, as their Marketing and Events Manager. This role is crucial in amplifying the brand's voice and expanding the reach and impact of the organization. You will be responsible for marketing, event management, public relations, branding, design, and communication, collaborating with team members, students, donors, and sponsors. This position offers a base salary of $80,000 to $90,000 and the opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization with a strong network of partners and advisors.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience, showcasing a growth-oriented trajectory
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field
  • Expertise in marketing via partnerships, email campaigns, social platforms, and events
  • Excellent attention to detail, copywriting, proofreading, and editing skills
  • Proficiency in social media management tools, analytics platforms, and Google Suite
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Previous experience managing events of various sizes and complexities, from conception to execution
  • Flexibility to travel up to 15% of the time, including some nights and weekends, for SOF conferences, fundraising events and quarterly management team offsites across the United States
  • Prior experience thriving in a remote work environment for a significant period of time, able to self motivate without constant oversight

Responsibilities

  • Own the marketing of SOF across all platforms, including our website, social channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, X), and email—reaching hundreds of thousands of people
  • Manage all internal marketing and communications to our students, being the voice of Scholars of Finance to our 4,000+ members and increasing adoption of SOF resources
  • Elevate our messaging, design, and build a world-class brand that is appealing, captures hearts and minds, and drives action among investors and future leaders
  • Serve as main writer, editor and proofreader of external written communications, ensuring that all engagements with key stakeholders inspire confidence, excitement and trust
  • Own all marketing and fundraising assets, including 1-pagers, pitch decks, and other external facing materials for students and finance professionals
  • Own our podcast, coordinating our host (our CEO), podcast guests, editing, and launches
  • Edit short videos to post to social media and send to donors to thank them for their generosity
  • Oversee student planning of 6-10 annual regional Leadership Conferences across the United States, ensuring all logistical aspects are organized, including venue selection, speaker recruitment, budgeting, marketing, and sponsorship
  • Collaborate with student leaders and external partners to develop engaging event agendas and secure high-profile speakers
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of fundraising events and potentially future galas to bring together leading executives to fund our mission and programs
  • Streamline, consolidate, and automate (where possible), all marketing, communications, and event operations to drive efficiency, leverage, and scale
  • Stay informed on cutting-edge fundraising, partnership, marketing, and branding best practices and continuously advance our team’s collective expertise
  • Actively contribute to, and shape our team’s culture to accelerate our growth and impact
  • Coach and motivate student volunteers to execute and market Leadership Conferences and hold them accountable if they fail to meet expectations
  • Manage our cross functional communications schedule, ensuring we steward our channels without fatiguing our audiences
  • Drive deep clarity and understanding of our mission, vision, values, and core differentiators among our students and alumni

  • Experience working with college students and finance professionals
  • Network in the finance sector and experience collaborating with global teams
