Operations Coordinator

Summary

Join Lithos Carbon, a revolutionary carbon capture company, as their Operations Coordinator! This full-time, remote role requires you to be the on-the-ground presence for our operations team during deployments, primarily within a 50-mile radius of Durham, NC. You will scout farms, supervise deliveries, troubleshoot issues with farmers and truckers, and meticulously document data. The position demands physical stamina, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently. Opportunities for growth and advancement are available. Requirements

• Possess a reliable vehicle and the ability to drive it legally and safely (Driver’s license, insurance, etc.)
• Possess a professional appearance and bearing - be able to communicate competence and confidence to our diverse farming, vendor, and local partners
• Be able to spend long periods of time driving, standing, or performing repetitive physical tasks in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills - both externally to partners and internally to members of the Lithos team. Be able to distill the big picture, while communicating extremely precise, accurate, and well-documented details on the daily
• Be comfortable working with technology to communicate with external partners and communicate information and data to Lithos (phone, email as well as Google Suite applications including Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Drive, etc)
• Be self-disciplined and motivated to fulfill their work duties as a fully remote employee

Responsibilities

• Scout Farms for Projects: Be the eyes and ears of our operations team. Check out farms and referrals before we carefully plan timelines and deploy material to them
• Supervise Deliveries: Ensure our deliveries for farmers run smoothly from beginning to end. This includes ensuring trucks departing the quarry have the correct destination for drop sites, directing trucks at drop sites, collecting “scale tickets”, and coordinating with farmers to make changes when needed on the fly
• Troubleshoot with Farmers and Truckers: Be the first responder to any issues with deployments. Work with farmers to quickly resolve issues on-the-ground or escalate them to the Lithos Operations team as needed
• Document Media and Record Data: Take photos and videos of deployments. Record operational data as needed by the science, accounting, or operations teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Have experience working with farmers, truckers, or agriculture
• Possess a truck/4WD vehicle
• Possess mental and physical fortitude and grit - thrive under pressure and be able to deal with discomfort
• Be willing to get their hands dirty (literally and figuratively) to solve problems in the field and make farmers’ experiences with Lithos as smooth as possible
• Possess strong interpersonal skills and empathy - be able to navigate potentially stressful situations to ensure our partners and farmers get what they need from our operations and continue to have strong NPS (Net Promoter Score)
• Operate with a sense of urgency and precision, and have good instincts on how to prioritize across and approach multiple tasks. Be able to solve problems without a lot of supervision and be able to do some confidently, transparently, and independently
• Have a proactive mindset - solve problems before they become worse, rather than wait for instructions on how to proceed
