Optimization Engineer, Remote - Portugal

Summary

The job description is for an Optimization Engineer position at Ryanair Labs, a tech start-up within the airline industry. Requirements

• +2 years of experience (or relevant academic experience) working on mathematical optimization projects
• +2 years of experience developing with python or C++
• Skills in at least two of the following: mixed integer programming (branch and bound etc.), linear programming (simplex method, duality theory, column generation), constraint programming, local search methods, metaheuristics

Responsibilities

Work in a multi-disciplined team, owning work from the initial idea to final implementation in various areas such as flight operations, ground operations, scheduling, route development, and more

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Mathematical Optimisation/Research Operations
• Experience in optimisation models with large number of variables and restrictions where scale and performance are a challenge
