Summary
Join Encora as a Payroll Manager and work closely with the Finance and People & Culture teams to streamline payroll operations. You will oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires expertise in UKG/Paychex payroll systems and a strong understanding of multi-state payroll regulations. You will manage PTO, timecards, and employee coaching, while also identifying and implementing system enhancements. The position demands excellent communication and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to handle sensitive employee data with discretion. This is a full-time, work-from-home position.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in accounting, Finance, HR, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll management experience, with at least 3 years working specifically with Paychex systems
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with internal departments
- Excellent communication skills, ability to adapt messages for audience
- Proven ability to make proper judgment calls when presented by a situation/problem
Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end payroll process on a timely basis and ensure accuracy in all areas, including data input, auditing, and final submission for salaried, hourly and OT calculations
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax withholding, garnishments, and other reporting requirements. Prepare and ensure that necessary filing required under various laws are completed on time
- Responsible for PTO management, timecard management, coaching employees, review and recommend improvements to existing procedures
- Identify and implement system enhancements or upgrades to improve payroll efficiency and ensure that payroll data is accurately transitioned to ERP
- Respond to audits or inquiries related to payroll operations
- Generate reports for finance, HR, and management regarding payroll metrics and trends
- Partner with HR to align payroll processes with organizational policies and benefits programs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related employee inquiries, providing timely resolution
- Collaborate with the finance team on reconciliations, budget forecasting, and cash flow planning
- Proactively identify areas for improvement and lead initiatives to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency
- Problem-Solving, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to address discrepancies or errors in payroll
- Attention to detail, high level of accuracy in processing data and preparing reports
- Confidentiality and integrity demonstrated ability to handle sensitive employee data with discretion
- Analytical thinking, ability to analyze data for trends, compliance risks and opportunities for process improvement
- Interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships in and out of the organization
- Process improvement, identify inefficiencies in payroll process and implement solutions to streamline and automate
- Conduct year-end reporting for W-2's, and process the amendment for W-2c
