Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience managing full-cycle, multi-state payroll
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll systems (Rippling experience is a plus)
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Suite and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, etc.)
  • Experience with sales commission software and payroll inquiries
  • Ability to handle sensitive payroll information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach to payroll support

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end payroll process for salaried, hourly, and commissioned employees across the US and Canada
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of semi-monthly payroll, including monthly and quarterly commissions and bonuses and off-cycle checks (final paychecks, severance, etc.)
  • Audit employee timesheets and paid time off requests to maintain payroll accuracy
  • Collaborate with the VP of Finance for final payroll approvals
  • Ensure all variables and commissions are accurately reflected in the sales commission system
  • Maintain compliance with multi-state wage and hour laws, keeping up with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Support the audit process for payroll, 401(k), workers' compensation, and other internal and external reviews
  • Assist with ensuring annual forms are accurately prepared, such as W-2s and 1099s
  • Assist with tax setup for new hires and ensure location tax configurations are correct
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external agencies and vendors, addressing system issues, tax updates, and system enhancements
  • Act as the go-to resource for employee payroll inquiries, providing clear and timely responses
  • Generate payroll reports to support various teams, including HR, Finance, and leadership
  • Partner with external parties to ensure smooth payroll processing and accurate data sharing
