Summary

Join Metabase's People team as a People Operations Generalist and play a key role in ensuring compliance with US labor laws while supporting global compliance and immigration initiatives. This role requires research, problem-solving, and a business-minded approach. You will support key People processes, including onboarding, offboarding, and systems access requests. You'll also assist with annual finance and SOC2 audits, implement and refine People Ops processes, and manage vendor and tools. The ideal candidate is highly intelligent, resourceful, detail-oriented, organized, business-minded, trustworthy, curious, adaptable, and has a low-ego attitude. Responsibilities

  • Investigate HR and employment compliance topics across different regions, assess risks, and provide practical recommendations
  • Assist with U.S. and Canadian visa and immigration processes, coordinating with external legal counsel to ensure a smooth experience for employees
  • Support key People processes—including onboarding, offboarding, and systems access requests—while partnering with the BizOps team to assist with annual finance and SOC2 audits
  • Help implement and refine People Ops processes, ensuring they are both legally sound and business-friendly
  • Research and evaluate external tools, vendors, and partners to improve HR efficiency
  • Pull and analyze reports, track key compliance requirements, and ensure accuracy in documentation
  • Act as a reliable and discreet resource, handling sensitive information with care and helping to create clear, structured policies
  • Support key People initiatives as needed, including managing People data, assisting with performance management, helping with talent operations, and coordinating logistics for our annual all-hands offsite
