Join Shippo's People Team as a People Partner Manager, supporting R&D and G&A teams. This high-impact role focuses on empowering leaders to optimize team performance. The position involves embedding in key people programs, identifying and resolving issues, and strategically influencing leadership decisions. Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a People Partner / HRBP role, ideally with time spent in fast-paced tech environments
  • Proven experience working closely with R&D orgs — engineering, product, and/or design — and accelerating their effectiveness
  • Strong coaching skills paired with high standards — you know how to make managers better, not more dependent
  • Clear, concise communicator who can flex between tactical and strategic conversations without losing the thread
  • High ownership and follow-through — you track things, close loops, and bring rigor without needing reminders
  • You’re respected because you bring value, not because of your title

Responsibilities

  • Partner deeply with leaders across Engineering, Product, and G&A — understanding team dynamics, identifying friction points, and actively coaching managers to lead more effectively
  • Drive performance enablement by embedding yourself in key people programs (e.g. feedback, calibration, promotion readiness, manager development) and making them work better for R&D teams
  • Accelerate team effectiveness by helping leaders spot and fix issues early — whether it's org design, execution misalignment, or manager underperformance
  • Be operationally excellent — track actions, follow through, and make people processes feel lightweight but effective
  • Influence strategically — bring a grounded POV to leadership conversations backed by data, team insight, and experience
  • Champion accountability — you don’t absorb others’ work, you push for clarity, ownership, and progress
