Summary

Join Datacom as a Product Account Manager and develop new business opportunities within existing and prospective client accounts. You will establish supplier agreements, manage procurement processes, and build long-term customer relationships. You will be responsible for formulating and implementing strategic business plans to achieve sales targets, managing negotiations, and collaborating with sales and support teams. Requirements

  • Expert product and industry knowledge
  • Understanding/background in IT procurement, and the NZ channel market
  • Product knowledge across major hardware and software vendors
  • Proven track record in CRM pipeline management and strategic forecasting
  • An excellent understanding of the business requirements/IT deliverables demanded by the client(s)
  • Appreciation of the value/importance of the account
  • Strong understanding of Account Management techniques and disciplines
  • Strong financial management practices with a clear understanding of the relationship between costs and overall profitability
  • Proven sales ability including outstanding negotiation skills, persuasive ability

Responsibilities

  • Uncover, maintain, lead and develop opportunities in some of our existing accounts, while finding new clients to grow our portfolio and reach targets
  • Establish supplier agreements for products on customer accounts and manage supplier and procurement processes for allocated accounts
  • Ensuring complete customer satisfaction when dealing with their allocated accounts and the organisation
  • Formulating, implementing, and managing strategic business plans regarding client accounts to achieve sales revenue and quota targets
  • Revenue, growth, productivity and profit for the entire portfolio, and facilitating growth and penetration of the customer’s contract
  • Managing negotiations between the organisation, the client and any third-party organisations involved
  • Collaborating with sales and support groups to demonstrate value of support offering to client and identify opportunities for expanded support business
  • Accountable for the preparation and coordination of sales proposals, tender submissions, contractual documentation, and strategic account management plans, as well as delivering product demonstrations where applicable
  • Maintaining a level of product training and certifications to support client accounts
