Summary

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, data science, or a related field
  • 10 years of working experience, with at least 2 years of experience as a Program Analyst, Management Analyst, or similar role
  • Attention to detail with an eye for quality and quality improvements
  • Experience working with data elements, data definitions/dictionaries, user documentation, and data collections
  • Ability to track multiple data program rules, data types and statuses to ensure customers receive accurate data and information
  • Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, especially in federal health IT or public sector data environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you can navigate between technical jargon and plain language like a pro

Responsibilities

  • Be part of a team that is supporting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) by disseminating data to researchers who are studying ways to improve the quality and reduce the cost of care provided to chronically ill Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries
  • Collaborate across technical and non-technical teams, both internal and with CMS, to track, document, and coordinate complex data requests, access policies, and deliverables
  • Own the details: Track multiple data program rules, transfer statuses, user permissions, and request timelines to ensure accurate and timely data delivery
  • Build relationships with researchers and partners to enhance communication and ensure specifications are complete and accurate
  • Contribute to change management and business analysis efforts, helping shape how processes evolve as federal data systems and stakeholder needs grow
  • Provide consistent status reporting across data activities, risks, and project milestones to both internal teams and external partners
  • Identify and propose improvements to documentation, customer support, and internal workflows
  • Serve as resource for internal and external customers and liaison between technical and non-technical staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with databases, reporting tools, and workflow/documentation platforms like Jira and Confluence is a plus
  • A naturally curious, solutions-oriented mindset. You don't just flag problems, you help solve them
  • Your entire experience has been supporting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
