Requirements

  • Minimum of one to three years’ experience in accounts payable within a commercial real estate or construction environment preferred
  • Understand basic accounting principles and apply them to day to day responsibilities
  • Familiarity with construction, design, consulting and other third-party contracts, invoices and related documents
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to cooperatively interface with cross-functional teams/individuals internally and externally
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to positive team dynamics and to foster a culture of teamwork, communication and partnership to achieve shared goals and maximize collective success
  • Exemplary work ethic with highly effective time management skills and the ability to meet critical time deadlines
  • Attention to detail and follow through
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience in Nexus Payables, Box.com and MRI a plus
  • Completion of high school diploma; AS/AA degree or equivalent combination of education, training and related experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Process Development Invoices: Enter vendor invoices into Nexus Payables and manage process to vendor payment
  • Review invoices for coding and accuracy including proper supporting documentation in accordance with company policy
  • Interface with internal accountants and internal/external team members to ensure compliance
  • Prepare, organize, and distribute project data and necessary documentation
  • Communicate, respond to and follow up with vendors regarding inquiries, discrepancies and resolutions
  • Provide assistance with ad-hoc projects as requested
  • Step in to support the team and cover tasks as needed when someone is away
