Summary

Join DCS’s Life Cycle team as a Life Cycle Project Manager, focusing on expansion and modification projects for existing and new customers. This hybrid Project Manager/Site Manager role offers significant ownership and hands-on experience with material handling systems. You will lead project teams through all phases, from pre-sales activities to project completion, ensuring customer satisfaction and effective communication. On-site responsibilities include construction, start-up, and testing. The role requires strong project management skills, team leadership, and the ability to manage budgets and client expectations. Requirements

  • Have 3+ years or more of Project Management or Site Management experience in a similar industry
  • Be able to manage a team of 8 through all phases of a $2 million material handling project
  • Be proficient in MS Office environment, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, and Calendar
  • Be able to speak and write clearly and accurately
  • Be willing to cooperate with others and work to the greater good
  • Possess multi-tasking capabilities
  • Have the ability to adapt to work changes / work environment and adjust effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures
  • Be focused on accomplishing work objectives for yourself and your team
  • Have the ability to coordinate technical requirements with non-technical personnel

Responsibilities

  • Report through DCS’s Life Cycle team, focusing on existing customer expansions and strategic small projects
  • Lead a project team through all phases of a Life Cycle Project including initiation, planning, execution, and closure
  • Assist with pre-sales functions and discussions to ensure projects are properly scoped, defined, and budgeted
  • Develop schedules using Microsoft Project that accurately reflect the scope of the work and confirm alignment with priorities and resource allocation. Critical path must be defined
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a cross functional team to ensure process role, clarity, support, accountability and transparency, review projects and resources weekly and make suggestions when needed to align resources more effectively with project leads
  • Develop strong relationships with internal team members at all levels to further foster collaboration, transparency, accountability and risk mitigation
  • Be on-site and responsible for construction, start-up, and testing for Life Cycle Projects, typically 1-6 weeks in duration
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, and other suppliers concerning all staffing, scheduling, system layout and safety issues
  • Oversee inbound receipt of equipment and resolve inventory issues
  • Prepare project reports (including daily reports and punch lists) in accordance with customer specifications, engineering as builts, and site-specific requirements
  • Perform workplace safety audits and write job hazard reports and task training outlines
  • Manage day-to-day client interaction and expectations for Life Cycle Projects
  • Manage and maintain budget and cash flow
  • Identify billing issues when they arise
