Requirements
- Have 5+ years of experience in project management with an emphasis on power systems projects (substations, distribution, transmission, data centers)
- Have an Engineering or a Construction Management degree
- Be experienced in schedule methodologies and software such as MS Project and Primavera
- Be experienced in managing pursuits, leading cost estimation and schedule development
- Be able to influence clients and influence internal teams to drive to goals and achieve deadlines/best outcomes
- Be able to scale and grow client volume, business volume, and improve operations
- Be a self-starter who can navigate and make difficult decisions with minimal input from leadership
- Have a strong knowledge of business systems and ERP/EVM/construction software (Microsoft Office, Oracle, NetSuite, Ecosys, InEight, and Timberline)
- Be willing and able to travel regularly, meeting customers where they are, both domestically and internationally
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage utility construction projects from business development inception to completion
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
- Flex, as needed, across pursuit and estimation, working with the Product Development team in the field on case studies
- Exhibit a passion for improvement, sharing ideas and leading continuous improvement initiatives to allow VEIR to scale the Commercial Operations organization
- Get fully integrated with VEIRβs organizational structure, key stakeholders, and company culture
- Familiarize with ongoing projects, internal processes, and ERP/construction software systems (e.g., NetSuite, InEight, Primavera)
- Begin drafting detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, resources, and risk management strategies for assigned projects
- Establish communication channels and collaboration frameworks between the project teams, contractors, and key stakeholders
- Oversee and manage the execution of one or more projects, ensuring they are progressing according to plan, on schedule, and within budget, addressing and resolving any project challenges as they arise
- Lead and coordinate project teams, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration
- Implement quality control measures to ensure all work complies with industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations
- Liaise with clients, vendors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
- Monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure that projects are completed within financial constraints
- Successfully lead at least one major project to completion, ensuring it meets all time, budget, and quality goals
- Prepare post-project evaluations and lessons learned for continuous improvement in future projects
- Take ownership of continuous improvement initiatives within the project management framework to help VEIR scale effectively
- Actively contribute to scaling VEIRβs Commercial Operations organization by refining project management processes, introducing improvements, and driving operational efficiencies
Preferred Qualifications
Have experience within the energy industry, either within a utility or an EPC provider, focused on power projects

The person in this role can be based in our office in Woburn, MA, full-time or remote in Kansas City, MO, traveling to the Woburn office periodically
