Property Accountant

Summary

The job is for a Property Accountant at Arrived, an investment platform that acquires and manages residential rental homes. The accountant will oversee accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, optimize key accounting systems, work with the finance team on automation and process improvement, and act as liaison to internal and external auditors. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, communicative, adaptable, analytical, problem-solver, experienced in single/multi family residential property accounting, familiar with GAAP, financial accounting statements, month-end/year-end close process, accounting software like Sage Intaact or Netsuite, and advanced MS Excel skills.

• Experience with single and/or multi family residential property accounting
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial accounting statements, and month-end/year-end close process
• Hands-on experience with accounting software like Sage Intaact or Netsuite
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• BS degree in Accounting, Finance and relevant job experience 2 years or more

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for a number of single family residential real estate investments
• Manage the entire accounting activities with proper synchronization of sub-ledgers and G/L, reviewing manual journal entries, set up entry templates and secure full adherence and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Combine operations data from external property managers with internal asset management financial records to prepare financial statements and other accounting reports. Work with property managers to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate reporting
• Act as liaison to internal and external auditors by explaining journal entries and financial transactions, providing research data and information as requested, and answering questions necessary to complete the audit in a timely manner
• Partner with other members of the finance and accounting team on automation, process improvement efforts, and assist with development of new investment products
